Rainbow - Unable to Continue - following new installation
Reply Quote

Hello. I installed Rainbow in a directory /Rainbow.  The installation went very well.  However, when trying  to access the site the followng error appears...  "Unable to Continue  We're sorry, but we were unable to service your request.  It's possible that the problem is a temporary condition.  We apologise for the inconvenience. "

According to the main Rainbow site, this could be due to a SQL server error or bad connection string.  I believe the connection string in the Rainbow\web.config file is correct.

Any ideas?  Also, do you know how to turn on logging?

Thanks

Not sure what kind of logging you mean.

For Web Log reports, go to Control Panel -> Reports.

Yes, connection string is in web.config

This is how I got Rainbow to work....
I had installed Rainbow in a directory of its own, "Rainbow".  This is where I got the error and it did not work.

I then removed the directory and the corresponding rainbow database.
I re-created the Rainbow directory and made the directory an ASP.NET 1.1 application before installation. I then ran the wizard and it worked.

I think you need to make the directory that you install Rainbow in an ASP.NET 1.1 application.

I believe that from the Rainbow install page that comes up after running the wizard, there is a link at the bottom that needs to be clicked to finish the installation.
